In the art team we’ve been working on getting the feeling of summer for Lummelunda. You would think the core of summer is the light, and having a very experienced team it would make us all convey on the way it had to be, but it turned out each one of us had a different experience of the color of the ocean then, the tone of the sky, the look of the clouds. For me it would be scorching sun and light so blinding you can’t go out, whereas for a Swede it could be a gray sky and a cold ocean.

Finding the right light to bring to the game has been a long work of threading the common details in all our different experiences, and a lot of back and forth late at night. Did you know if you change the value of the light just an insignificant 0.01 towards yellow suddenly the buildings would look green? But isn’t that how we finally got it!: cramped in the call room, stubborn and unyielding, doing the mathematics of the perfect summer.
