Blockchain Game Alliance Unveils Updated Industry Survey for 2025
The Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) has introduced an enhanced version of its annual State of the Industry Survey for 2025, designed to be more accessible and effective in capturing the latest trends in blockchain gaming. This year, the survey invites participation from professionals in the blockchain gaming sector and related fields worldwide, and for the first time, it is offered in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Japanese. The findings are anticipated to be released in mid-December 2025.
Invitation to Participate in the Survey
Professionals engaged in blockchain gaming and its affiliated industries are being urged to contribute their perspectives on various pressing issues, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and regulatory challenges, as the BGA launches its fifth annual State of the Industry Survey. With the gaming landscape continuously evolving, the BGA is keen to gather insights that reflect the current state of blockchain gaming. The organization invites everyone, whether they are developers or players, to share their experiences and viewpoints through the survey.
Insights into Industry Trends
“While AI is a prominent topic this year, the true value of the survey lies in understanding the sentiments of industry professionals regarding these developments,” stated Yasmina Kazitani, Co-President of BGA, in a communication to Crypto News Australia. This survey serves as a platform to discern which trends are genuinely influencing blockchain gaming and which remain largely speculative.
Focus Areas of the 2025 Survey
This year’s survey will address critical themes such as the integration of artificial intelligence, strategies for acquiring new users, monetization approaches, regulatory concerns, blockchain infrastructure advancements, and evolving community dynamics. The BGA has revamped the survey to streamline the process, reducing the number of questions from 23 to just 12 core inquiries, making it quicker and simpler for respondents. Additionally, the survey is now available in several languages beyond English, including Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, and Arabic.
Adapting to a Changing Landscape
“Since we initiated this survey in 2021, the emergence of new blockchains, technological advancements, shifting business strategies, and changing market conditions have significantly transformed the landscape,” remarked Sebastien Borge, Co-President of BGA. The ongoing evolution of the web3 gaming ecosystem necessitates a regular review and update of the survey to accurately reflect current priorities and establish a solid foundation for future assessments.
About the Blockchain Game Alliance
Founded in 2018, the BGA aims to promote the adoption of blockchain technology within the gaming industry. The organization currently boasts over 300 members, encompassing major game developers, studios, guilds, blockchain protocols, venture capital firms, service organizations, crypto exchanges, and individuals involved in the blockchain gaming sector. The results of this year’s survey are set to be revealed in mid-December.
Current Challenges in Blockchain Gaming
According to DAppRadar’s Games Report for Q2 2025, conducted in collaboration with the BGA and released in July, the blockchain gaming sector is facing significant challenges. The report highlighted a 17% decline in player engagement from the previous quarter, with an average of 4.8 million unique daily active wallets. Moreover, it reported that approximately 300 dApps ceased operations during this quarter, representing around 8% of all gaming dApps monitored by DAppRadar.
Investment Trends in the Sector
Compounding these difficulties, the report indicated that investment in blockchain gaming has plummeted by 93% over the past year, signaling a dramatic decrease in funding for web3 gaming and metaverse initiatives.
Positive Developments Amid Challenges
On a more optimistic note, DAppRadar’s findings reveal that some prominent players in the traditional gaming industry are beginning to explore blockchain gaming. Notable studios like Sega and Ubisoft launched new titles in Q2 2025, while established brands, including Cirque du Soleil and FIFA, partnered with web3 companies to incorporate their brands into gaming and metaverse projects during the same period.
